Pumps. A pump is a device used to move fluids or slurries. It consumes energy to perform mechanical work by moving the fluids and creating pressure increase between the pump inlet and outlet. According to the industry specifications, the device can be called a pump if it consists of a rotor, piston and a membrane. A pump can operate only under certain conditions - its working mechanism has to be filled with water. Prior to starting the pump it has to be vented. When choosing a pump we may decide on the following parameters: efficiency (Q), maximal pressure (H), power (N).
